Do you understand why the hardness of steel balls is not the same

Jun 08, 2023 Leave a message

The hardness of steel balls is determined by steel balls made of different materials. Common steel balls include stainless steel balls, bearing steel balls, carbon steel balls, and carbide steel balls. So what factors cause different steel balls of different materials to have different hardness?

The hardness of the steel ball is directly affected by the hardness of the steel ball, that is, quenching and tempering. In the heat treatment process, bearing steel balls are quenched and tempered, and the metallographic structure inside them changes, resulting in a change in hardness. However, stainless steel balls cannot be heat treated with heat, because stainless steel is austenitic steel, and its own conditions cannot be heat treated with heat.
